Phoenix Magazine Review, Goc Saigon

Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. This review of Goc Saigon was a shoot for Phoenix Magazine, my second mini food review for them, and I was running late. I had misjudged how long the drive would take, because I forgot to account for traffic at that time of day. Rookie move. I called the restaurant when I was on my way to let them know, but unfortunately, they had made the dishes ahead, and they were sitting there waiting for me. Ugh. (I now make SURE to tell my contact to not prepare anything until I’m there and set up!) Fortunately, the dishes didn’t look at all like they’d been sitting after we freshened up some cilantro and added a bit of oil to bring back some shine.

Mistakes happen, and like I tell my kiddos, there’s always a solution. But… I don’t make the same mistakes twice!
